Executive Summary

Employees at Georgia Biotechnology Center process proposals that are submitted for research funds and promotional assistance. Proposals are processed after being categorized as a TDP (Technology Development Partnership) or a GBC (Georgia Biotechnology Center). Confusion over the identification of each type was time consuming. The Undergrad Service team investigated this problem and decided on a solution. We implemented cover sheet to head each proposal. It contains the information that helped the employees determine the category of each proposal more quickly. Our flow chart indicates how long the decision making process was before cover sheet was added to the proposals. With the cover sheet in place the process is significantly shorter. The cover sheet reduced the steps in processing proposals twenty-five minutes for Ashlei and twenty minutes for Oleysa. With this solution implemented the employees of GBC can dramatically improve the proposal process and the efficiency of the business.
