The Executive Summary
The University of Georgia Driving Range recently began receiving complaints from its employees that the driving range was taking too much time to close down at the end of each day. The Primo-Rita Consulting Team was called in to investigate the problem. The Primo-Ritas observed the golfball-picking process to try to determine the source of the problem. In looking for possible solutions, the Primo-Ritas used a flowchart and an Ishikawa diagram to further investigate why the closing process was taking so long. The results of this investigation showed that an idle worker was a source of the problem. The solution to this problem was to keep both attendants constantly picking balls and washing balls. The results are that the attendants are happy because they can leave earlier, and the picking process was reduced by an average of 56 minutes.
